The GDP were launched in 2013 by the European Commission and have two main objectives. The first is to prevent counterfeit medicines from entering the supply chain. The second is to ensure the control of the supply chain and thus maintain the integrity and quality of the medicines.<\/p>\n<p>As the Langhorst Group of Companies is also involved in the transport of medicines, we have already been certified according to GDP since 2014. Similar to the TAPA certification, the GDP certification also sets clear standards for the handling of medicines. These include precise checks at specified time intervals, clean and undamaged loading areas as well as detailed documentation of the transport and the goods through photos and completed documents. In addition, irregularities are pointed out immediately so that a lasting quality of the goods is guaranteed. Intensive staff training also works towards raising awareness of the GDP guidelines among both office and truck staff.<\/p>\n<p>The GDP transport procedures also include a comprehensive quality assurance system within our company. This system outlines all responsibilities, procedures and risk management principles related to the transports. In the event of deviations or problems during transport, this system takes action and defines appropriate corrective and preventive measures, which ultimately guarantees constant quality. All deviations are also documented in detail and reprocessed as part of the certification process.<\/p>\n<p>Certification is carried out by an independent auditor, who gets a comprehensive picture of the implementation of all measures within the company. The focus of the assessment is on temperature control within all process steps. In addition, the technical equipment of the refrigerated chassis and trucks as well as the safety of the processes, temperature documentation and emergency concepts are examined in detail.
